Springwoods Behavioral Health is an affiliated 80-bed acute care behavioral health facility located in Northwest Arkansas and has been providing quality health care to the residents Northwest Arkansas since 2009.  The hospital provides 24-hour acute care behavioral health services. 

Springwoods Behavioral Health is seeking a dynamic and talented Staffing/Scheduling Coordinator to maintain the schedules for our nursing department.

Job Description

Under the immediate supervision of the Nursing Manager and/or Nursing Supervisor, this position functions as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team providing direct care staffing (RNs, LPNs, MHTs) of the Hospital in coordination with Clinical Administration to meet set staffing guidelines and to utilize nursing staff in the most efficient manner possible.   The staffing coordinator is also responsible for tracking employee attendance (including absenteeism, lateness, FMLA, bereavement, jury duty, etc.), monitoring and adjusting employee time records for accuracy, coordinating hospital assignments, gathering data for infection control program related to employee absences and assisting with new hire orientation.  The staffing coordinator may be asked to provide coverage in other department.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Demonstrates teamwork, cooperation and treats others with dignity and respect.

  2. Demonstrates the ability to comprehend the total picture of the operation and willingness to assist and perform job task other than those assigned to increase quality of operation of the departments.

  3. Monitors overtime and alerts the Nurse Manager, Nurse Supervisor and/or the CNO when adjustments are needed.

  4. Ability to communicate staffing concerns to the CNO or designee.

  5. Maintains staffing board and master schedule for consistency.

  6. Post daily time adjustments and reviews (RN, LPN, and MHT) payroll.

  7. Completes daily staffing variance reports regarding staff to patient ratios and provides explanation for variances.

  8. Maintains procedures for tracking of mandated work and stop time.

  9. Tracks attendance for each nursing staff and alerts the appropriate supervisor and infection control nurse as needed.

  10. Ensures all payroll adjustment forms are signed by the correct individuals.

  11. Maintains patient valuable (safe) sign in/out procedures and assists in maintaining patient inventory.

  12. Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all patient, employee, and hospital operations.


    Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • Minimum of 2 years office experience
  • Experience in mental healthcare setting preferred
  • Must have the knowledge of the work flow of patient care units and understanding of hospital staffing requirements
  • Must possess the ability and willingness to interact with a variety of customers in a professional manner.  Must have effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Must be able to adapt to various computer software programs specific to payroll.
