What You'll Do

You will be responsible for creating strategic communication content  for members of the SP executive team, primarily Yvette Kanouff, SVP/GM. You will work directly with the Director of Strategic Communication & Leadership Positioning to create dynamic executive-level content, including messaging, presentations and internal/external communications. During a typical day, you will:

  • Coordinate logistics for major employee events including SPB-You all hands.

  • Research, write, and produce monthly internal newsletter for 6,000-member team.

  • Develop monthly leadership videos that provide SPBU employees with strategic updates about the business.

  • Develop monthly leadership videos for external audiences to provide our existing and potential customers reasons they should work with Cisco instead of a competitor.

  • Research, write and produce external newsletter and coordinate distribution to SP customers on a quarterly basis, working closely with marketing and sales.

  • Draft quarterly blogs for Yvette Kanouff and work with external team to place on The Platform or SP360.

  • Research, write, and submit regular contributions to the CEC team to ensure SP is represented to the broader Cisco community.

  • Develop and maintain internal collaboration sites (Jive), for SPBU, keeping the site current on a daily basis.

 

Who You'll Work With

Cisco Service Provider Business Unit is a global engineering, development and product management team of approximately 6,000 people. We deliver the products, software and solutions that our Service Provider customers need to realize the business outcomes for success. You will work closely with the leaders of our core business units, as well as interact with functions across the larger service provider organization.

 

Who You Are

You are an experienced communications leader who has a proven track record in creating compelling content and growing the profile of an executive or functional area. You are viewed as a content development partner and are able to understand the audience and adapt messaging as needed. You are adept at using the tools to reach and engage with various audiences. You also have superior verbal and written communications skills. And, you have experience in building strong relationships with a highly matrixed group of stakeholders and have an understanding of the executive's function and business strategy.

 

Our minimum requirements for is position are:

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Communications, or equivalent

  • 10+ years of internal/external communications

  • Track record for developing and executing strategic communication for internal and external audiences. 

  • Proven project management skills

  • Samples of superior messaging and storytelling
