What You'll Do

You're a Strategic Planning and Portfolio Manager who will collaborate with the EN Operations Leadership team in driving activities spanning across Annual Planning, Process Transformation, Budget and Portfolio Management, Operating Model / Governance and Operations initiatives.

  • You love a balance of critical thinking and “rolling up the sleeves” to drive tactical issues.
  • You're able to make recommendations to business leaders, based on a deep understanding of external market drivers, Cisco’s position, and data analytics.
  • You'll partner with senior Operations and Engineering leaders, as well as cross functionally with Finance, Product Management and other partners. Prior experience and interest in Finance and/or Product management will be helpful.
  • You have a self-starter” approach to take on critical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support strategic planning, portfolio prioritization and budget management
  • Coordinate and conduct Operational Reviews, Program Reviews and Strategy Forums
  • Manage operations excellence initiatives (for cost, quality, or time to market improvements)
  • Research, structure and analyze data to build supporting business cases for initiatives
  • Drive recommendations related to emerging industry trends, business opportunities, competitive dynamics, customer feedback, and internal business performance improvement
  • Enable team effectiveness through internal performance assessment across a range of metrics and key performance indicators
  • Maintain confident, well-informed, data-centric points-of-view to challenge entrenched views and bring in new ideas & creative solutions
  • Enthusiastically engage with diverse partners to build consensus around recommendations and actions. Make recommendations and inspire change across multiple levels of the organization.

Who You'll Work With

The Enterprise Networking (EN) Engineering group develops software across routing, switching, wireless, IOT and network management platforms at Cisco. The EN Operations Team enables business growth by driving strategic- planning, initiative management, business operations, and SDLC process transformation initiatives.

Who You Are

Qualifications and desired attributes

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or Finance. MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience, preferably in the high tech industry, in a business analyst, investment analyst, or product/program management role.
  • Working knowledge of Networking Technology / Products, Industry, & ability to understand issues at a high level in collaborating with engineers and product managers.
  • Great business insight and exceptional strategic and operational thinking skills
  • Expertise in data analytics and business analytics tools (examples: Excel, Tableau, SPSS or similar)
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities at a time
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse personality types and ability to communicate ideas to partners at all levels
