The Teacher will provide age and developmentally appropriate educational instruction in manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Mountain Youth Academy.. The Teacher is responsible to assess, develop and implement an education plan based on the student's learning needs. The teacher will also be a liaison with the students home district and is a an integral member of the treatment team in developing the continuing care plan with regards to educational services post discharge. Prefer knowledge of effective teaching skills and educational strategies with a special education population, individual and group management skills, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and crisis and behavior management. Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. . Must have Children/Young Adolescent experience.

Job Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Education. Masters Degree preferred.   Elementary or Secondary Education Certification. Certification in Special Education a plus.
