Job Description

This position is responsible for the ongoing review and maintenance of the DealShield Accounts Receivable activity as well as the supervision and training of one or more Accounts Receivable Specialists and/or analysts.  This person may also spend a portion of their time supporting the Accounts Receivable needs of the Manheim Retail Solutions business unit.

Experience:

8+ years of accounting or finance experience.

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service.
  • Experience in the automobile industry or the auction business a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle, AS400, and Macola preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products with a high level of proficiency with Excel required.
  • Job Responsibilities:

    • Train, Support, and Review one or more AR team members to ensure accurate processing if billing and cash applications
    • Review and administer customer AR balances
    • Manage the daily workflow of invoicing and cash applications
    • Maintain clear documentation of status or noteworthy items on customer accounts.
    • Responsible for collection calls and other coordination with external clients regarding their invoices and account balances
    • Produce recurring and ad hoc reporting as needed.
    • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for completeness and accuracy.
    • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial data, documents, and reports.
    • Ensure that internal and external customers are provided with timely and accurate assistance.
    • Cross-train in other areas of the accounting department.
    • Work on special projects as needed.
    • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Competent in accounting and financial practices and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly develop strong working relationships.
  • Able to quickly assess issues and relevant information to make effective decisions.
  • Skilled in creating spreadsheets and reports in MS Excel and Word.
  • Able to maintain effectiveness and efficiency in changing work responsibilities and environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new job related information.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and shift priorities quickly as required.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal direction, as well as be resourceful and independent in solving problems.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with all levels in the organization.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance, color and depth perception.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks; manual dexterity.
  • Work Environment: travel rarely required.
