The Supervisor, Patient Registration will oversee the Patient Registration 24/7 operations which includes 60 employees at Methodist Hospital of Sacramento. This position is responsible for supervising, monitoring and managing the AM daily operations in Main Admitting, ED, Outpatient Surgery, Bed Control and Financial Counseling. Daily duties for the Supervisor to include department scheduling, on-call commitments on rotating weekends and holidays, employee timecards and all activities related to employee engagement and 24/7 operations. Methodist Hospital of Sacramento's volume is approximately 6500 Registrations a month.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • This position reports to the Facility Director, Patient Financial Services
  • Participates in recruitment and selection of new hires, department orientation, training and counseling of staff; in conjunction with the Site Director, completes and processes probationary and scheduled appraisals for individual staff evaluations
  • Monitor staff productivity and quality, develop and recommend changes in procedure and work assignments, and review and approve time cards for department personnel
  • Provides guidance and constructively influences staff morale
  • Training, coordinating, scheduling and supervising the Patient Registration Department, with the goal of providing superior customer service and obtaining maximum reimbursement for services
  • Have awareness and understanding of changes in federal and state regulations and the ability to revise procedures and processes accordingly
  • Assist in the Quality Improvement activities; assists in implementing and monitoring adherence to policies, procedures, standards, and objectives to provide the maximum level of quality and timely service to internal and external customers Prompt communication of federal and state regulation changes to staff through continual training processes is essential to maintaining high performance and meeting time requirements
  • Interfacing regularly with other units and departments within the hospital
  • Participates in sponsoring students in the department and fostering relationships with associated educational programs
  • Works in collaboration with the Department Managers and Directors to develop and implement integrated policies and procedures
  • Maintains confidentiality of information deemed confidential and takes steps to assure processes that protect confidentiality
