Job Description

As Supervisor Payroll, you are end responsible for a timely and correct payroll management for all 3 legal entities in the Netherlands:

  • Timely and accurate payment of all employees for 3 legal entities
  • Ensure correct payroll in payroll system (SD works E-Blox)
  • Partner with the service provider for Netherlands

Being a payroll expert, reporting within finance, you need to partner with the different HR Managers on the different locations (Zaandam. Broek op Langedijk and Rotterdam) for all payroll related topics and correct follow up of social legislation

You work with external partners (a.o. Dutch Government - PWC on specific expat files - insurance companies – internal and external auditors)

You are the interface with the Finance department:
  • Insure payroll is correctly booked in SAP (Finance reporting systems)
  • Setup AOP and FCST files for all entities (full salary costs)
  • Give input for payroll reconciliation financial system towards output payroll provider for all entities
  • Ensure solid internal control structure in Payroll

Payroll & time registration
  • Registration & updating of data
    • for identification
    • for correct calculation of salary
  • Liaise with the different site HR Assistants for ensuring correct payroll input for both Blue and White Collars :
    • Basic input on dotted time (e.g. absences, address changes, new joiner information, exits, mutations etc ...)
  • Be end responsible for a timely and correct payroll management for all entities :
    • control all data, processes, transfer to SD
    • check the results after processing, received from SD
    • take corrective actions whenever necessary
    • Timely & correct payment of salaries
  • Ensure follow-up and implementation of changes in social legislation and ensure correct application of the different CLA’s
  • Liaise with PwC for expat files management
  • Responsible for continuous optimisation of payroll processes :
    • Finetune payroll software
    • Ensure efficiency
  • Ensure solid internal control structure in Payroll
  • Deliver AOP

  • Deliver reporting from payroll to different internal/external parties (Work’s Council, tax and social legislations, audit agencies, Control and Finance Planning,…)
  • Analysis of accounting versus AOP/Forecast/Planning

Team management
  • Ensure correct & timely feedback to the team by means of regular 1on1’s
  • Make sure objectives are clearly communicated
  • Support them in their personal development
  • Make sure all employees act up to all the rules which are applied to their function concerning work procedures, quality, safety and environment.
  • Encourage employees to make maximisation proposals and involve them in the implementation of improvement projects.
  • Train & validate all new employees or employees who start in a new function, to make sure that they know all the rules.
  • Stimulate employees to think critical about the rules and the projects for improvement.
  • Involvement of employees in implementing improvement proposals.

  • Master in Economics / Finance
  • Additional degree in social law is required
  • Strong experience in payroll management (preferably good knowledge of Blox)
  • Process-oriented : able to optimise existing procedures and way of working
  • Be abreast of social legislation (both for white & blue collars)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills both within the payroll/Finance department as well as with other stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Can-do attitude with pro-active approach and fostering open communication
  • Be able to manage and prioritize your workload
  • Real team player, able to motivate his/her team members
  • PC-skills : excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Languages : Dutch, English
  • Experience in a Multi-national environment is an asset
