What You'll Do

As a Supply Chain Product Engineer you'll be responsible for New Product Introduction and Sustainability. High level responsibilities are detailed below.

New Product Introduction

  • Be the primary contact for engineering team for the platform for all technical and product quality related to design and manufacturing.
  • Review and provides inputs and influences project team in the specification, design, development and testing strategy of hardware.
  • Supports the development of new products and drive design for manufacturing excellence with the goal of best in class quality and reliability with optimized cost.
  • Performs, follows up and closes issues related to Design for Excellence (DFx).
  • Leads the DFx related discussions with engineering and CM partners
  • Collaborates with Business Units, central engineering teams, CM Partners and CA personnel to drive quality and cost of design and quality.
  • A deep understanding of manufacturing processes related to optics and optical interfaces is important as you will work with CM partners for quality and process Development / validations.
  • Ability to think creatively for internal process optimization using web tools.

Sustaining

  • Actively manage and drive the quality issues in the field and factory.
  • Manages technical changes to existing products through BOM management, ECO and deviation processes.
  • Provide hardware debug mentorship to contract manufacturing test engineers and debug technicians. Ensures that Manufacturing receives the required level of product training.
  • Actively work with the Defect Reduction and Product Teams by working to identify product issues and drive resolutions
  • Takes an active role in the evaluation and improvement of existing processes and tools.

Systems Product Operations that is engaged in the development of routing technology. You will be part of the team developing next-gen and high-end routing platforms. This team influences and handles a global team with presence in California, Thailand, China, and India. This team transforms our daily work in order to deliver projects ahead of time, below cost, and high-quality standards for demanding Global Service Providers.

Who You Are

You have a successful track record of relationship building and the ability to effectively influence peers and management with your strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal which gives you an edge to create an impact. All of this, combined with a strong sense of ownership and integrity make you a fantastic fit for this role. 

  • Typically requires BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent plus 6-8 years applicable experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to optics and optical interfaces
  • Proficient with office and Agile PDM system.
  • Prior experience with Allegro and be proficient with Valor CAD tools
  • Experience sustaining HW products 
  • Deep understanding of new product launch and development related to manufacturing
