Heritage Oaks Hospital is a 125 bed acute psychiatric hospital offering inpatient and outpatient mental health services for adolescents, adults, and seniors in the greater Sacramento, CA area.  Heritage Oaks Hospital consistently strives to meet patients’ psychiatric needs by helping patients to improve their clinical status, regain their quality of life, and return to daily activities in their homes and communities.  Heritage Oaks Hospital has recently undergone an expansion to serve an even larger number of individuals struggling with emotional, psychiatric, and substance abuse problems.  The main campus is located minutes off Interstate 80 by Del Paso Regional Park, with on-site parking and a bus stop in front of the hospital.  The Roseville and West Sacramento locations also offer outpatient services. 

The Nurse Supervisor is a key member of the Hospital Leadership Team, who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements.  The Nurse Manager provides staff supervision, ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, performs audits and various administrative duties, builds proficiency of staff and programming, and ensures fiscal responsibility for the Nursing Department, while promoting a collaborative and engaging work culture.

Job Requirements:

  • Licensure: Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of employment.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.  Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Proficiency with common computer based applications such as electronic mail, word processing and various databases, whether PC, network or mainframe based.
