Corona Regional Medical Center is a 238-bed hospital facility on two campuses, providing comprehensive healthcare services.  It is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, employs over 1100 trained healthcare workers, and has a Medical Staff of approximately 350 physicians representing over 40 specialties.

Social Services Supervisor-Psych

Reporting to the Director of Behavioral Health Services this position is responsible for the efficient operation of all aspects of the therapy program. Responsibilities include: completion of psychosocial assessments, supervision of therapy staff (Behavioral Specialists, LC SW`s/MFT`s, Activity Therapist) and leading patient process groups.

Essential Job Duties:

Works in conjunction with the Director of BHS and the Medical Director in the definition of the philosophy, goals, and treatment programs of Behavioral Health Services.

Demonstrates knowledge of The Joint C ommission and Title 22 standards and guidelines, as well as ethical issues

Demonstrates compliance with hospital and therapy policies and procedures at all times

Assures that Social Services staff understands and comply with policies, standards and guidelines.

Demonstrates knowledge of the legal consequences of staff actions as evidenced by the monitoring of therapy staff roles. Provides supervision to staff so that legal risk is adequately and appropriately managed.

Knowledgeable of all aspects of the Program's clinical services and how these are related to other aspects of the Hospital.

Understands the payor sources and the implications of such for the hospital. Assists staff in understanding reimbursement issues/compliance with requirements.

Active member of the treatment team. Monitors the treatment and gives the Director of BHS recommendations regarding the enhancement of such.

Promotes teamwork in the program and provides assistance and problem solving as needed.   

Provides internal consultation to non-therapy staff as needed regarding psychosocial, community, clinical, legal and ethical issues as directed by the Director of BHS.

Directs the case management of the patient making assignment to therapy staff as appropriate to ensure continuity of care (including discharge) so that clinical, ethical and legal concern are appropriately addressed.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Knowledge of Patient Rights.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Two years supervisory experience required, preferably in a clinical setting over Social Workers. Psychiatric experience required.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

Master`s degree in Social Work required.

REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS

C urrent C alifornia Licensed C linical Social Worker (LC SW) required.

C urrent BLS (C PR) C ertificate required.

Assaultive Behavior Management training certificate required within 90 days from date of hire.
