Job Description

The LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school effected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. General Scope of Responsibilities:   Provide one-to-one intervention as needed for specific student in the school setting and/or transition setting supporting the educational and behavioral program as directed by the regular and/or special education teacher.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement behavior plan, and/or health care plan as appropriate
  • Assist student with Activities of Daily Living
  • Assist student with independent study projects, makeup work, homework completion
  • Reinforce and provide practice developed by the regular and/or special education teacher for students in academic instruction
  • Assist with data collection of academic instruction
  • Assist in the management of student behavior:
  • Observation and data collection of behavior
  • Implementation of positive behavior supports as directed by the special education teacher and/or behavior analyst
  • Assist in scoring student tests, checking student workbooks, homework and written exercises
  • Assist in production and processing of classroom materials and projects for the student
  • Assist in monitoring student during filed trips, community based instruction, assemblies or testing situations
  • With high school/transition students in work/job readiness:
  • Monitor work, ensure successful completion of work duties by students, monitor attendance
  • Prepare related reports and assist in evaluation of job skills
  • Work directly in a variety of community and work-related placements
Job Requirements


Bachelor's Degree preferred, HS Diploma and at least 12 completed college credits are required.  Previous experience working with children in a psychiatric setting preferred.
