Job Location: New Jersey-Virtual
This position will lead a team of Retirement Education Counselors who provide consultative retirement education services to participants in the State of New Jersey’s retirement plans. 
Our mission is to partner with our client in changing how state employees think about retirement and long term financial security.  Ideally, this position will be based in Central New Jersey.  The selected candidate must be willing to travel throughout the state of New Jersey.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Promote a team environment which fosters collaboration and alignment with client goals.
  • Serve as primary point of contact to local governmental departments and key decision makers, developing effective relationships and partnerships.
  • Supervisory principal and management responsibilities for direct reports including hiring, training, coaching and performance management.
  • Building strong collaborative relationships with internal partners and management delivering outstanding client service.
  • Travel/expense management and compliance adherence/reporting.
  • Deliver engaging on-site group and individual meetings that focus on helping people achieve retirement readiness.

  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 & 63 licenses required
  • FINRA series 24 or 26 along with State life insurance license must be attained within 180 days of hire
  • Minimum of 3-5 years financial services/retirement experience preferred
  • Proven track record leading teams preferred
  • Strong presentation skills 
  • Well versed in Deferred Compensation and Defined Contribution Plans as well as retirement planning concepts 
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of mutual funds/separate accounts, with an understanding of the risk/reward tradeoff for all securities   
  • Have experience with a consultative needs based approach helping people plan for retirement       
  • Bilingual in Spanish considered a plus   
  • Must be willing to travel to client locations within the State of New Jersey and other locations
  • Must be able to carry up to 30lbs. and navigate pedestrian pathways such as narrow corridors
