Under the general supervision of the supervisor, the Tech - Medical (ASCP/REG) assumes the responsibility for performing waived and non-waived complexity analysis of patient specimens for diagnostic purposes, and related procedures in the areas of assigned responsibility under the philosophy, policies and procedures established by the hospital and the Department of Laboratory Services. Such responsibilities encompass not only the internal functioning of the Department, but also the integration of the Department into the overall functioning of Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The Tech - Medical (ASCP/REG) supports an organizational culture of Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

Requirements

1. Minimum Education: Baccalaureate degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science required. In lieu of Baccalaureate degree, employee may qualify with 16 semester hours in biology, 16 semester hours of Chemistry, and one semester of math from an accredited college/university plus 15 years or more experience in a CLIA certified laboratory.
2. Experience: 2 years of experience preferred if assigned to off-site laboratory
2. Certifications: ASCP, other equivalent certification, or eligible-to be obtained within 6 months of hire
3. Mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills at the college level required.
