Technical Account Manager - IoT

We are currently seeking a Technical Account Manager based in Melbourne to support Telstra, one of our operator partners in Australia. Reporting to our Managing Director, IoT Software – ANZ, this assignment is a highly visible and exciting role, responsible for providing technical, go-to-market and sales support to Telstra for their Internet of Things offerings on the Cisco Jasper Control Center.

We are driving the Connected Home and are behind many Smart Meter projects, medical devices, connected construction equipment, plus thousands more devices from iPhones to pet trackers, across dozens of industries and six continents.


  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key sales, product, marketing, engineering and operations stakeholders at the Jasper operator partner
  • Evangelize and train Operator’s Sales Teams to deliver the market leading value proposition and demonstrate Control Center software that Cisco Jasper provides
  • Deliver best in class sales presentations and product demonstrations
  • Support operator partner reps with their presentations and demonstrations to top tier prospective enterprise customers
  • Train and provide ongoing support to Jasper operator partner sales engineering and operations teams to on-board new customers onto the Jasper platform
  • Participate in weekly Jasper operator partner pipeline / implementation calls and work to remove technical blockers
  • Capture new product requirements and provide detailed feedback to Jasper product team
  • Identify and build sales tools to help operator partner sales team in their sales activities.
  • Assist Customers to migrate their existing Connected Devices to the Control Center
  • Organize quarterly training sessions to keep Jasper operator partner teams up to date on new features
  • Coach and mentor Operator’s sales teams and in identifying and developing new feature requirements that will help them grow their business and revenue
  • Respond to Requests for Information, Proposal or Quotes from leading Global Enterprise Customers and be part of the team that wins them

Who You'll Work With

As a Technical Account Manager, you will own the relationship with your assigned Service Provider, and be the internal champion for their requirements, interfacing with all functions of the IoT business at Cisco. You will work broadly across the domains and functions of your Service Provider partner, as well as the Cisco team. This role will benefit from regular industry consultation and successful candidates will have a natural appetite to learn as much as they can about IoT, from any and all available sources.

Who You Are

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred. Additional business coursework in addition to technical coursework considered a plus
  • Commercially astute
  • Capable of leading virtual teams
  • Multi-level relationship management, C suite to sellers
  • Aptitude with Software as a Service Platforms
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation and customer interfacing skills
  • Experience in IoT is a plus
  • Experience with carrier channel management and carrier sell through models
  • Experience in client management and aligning account strategies to recognize revenue
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Excellent reading, writing and communication skills in English required
