What You'll Do

  • Work with a team of high performing engineers in building, developing and delivering the Linux kernel
  • Be at constant touch with the Linux kernel community to evolve the kernel
  • Bring up of Kernel on multiple flavors of Hardware / CPU architecture
  • Debug critical kernel issues (Performance , stability and scalability)
  • Upstream kernel patches as needed
  • Be the mentor for the other engineers and take the lead in driving technology initiatives

Who You'll Work With

Data Center Networking Group is developing the Nexus 9000 line of data center and cloud switches that feature application awareness to make the network infrastructure flexible and agile for dynamic response to application needs and virtual machine workload mobility. Data Center also developed a 40G Ethernet transceiver designed to drastically lower the price of 40G optics to better compete with other competitor switches.

The future of networking with ACI is about providing a network that is deployed, monitored, and managed in a fashion that supports DevOps and rapid application change. ACI does so through the reduction of complexity and a common policy framework that can automate provisioning and managing of resources.

Who You Are

  • Deep Linux kernel knowledge with minimum 5 years of hands on experience
  • 10+ years of software experience in the computer systems and architecture
  • Contributed to the open source Linux kernel
  • Worked on multiple kernel subsystems (network, crypto, block, fs, scheduler..)
  • Good understanding of the Intel CPU architecture
  • Good understanding of the compiler and build tools
  • Have experience in end to end build process (Build from mainline to bringing up on hardware)
