Technical Lead **Sandwich, Kent**



An opportunity has arisen to apply for the position of a Mechanical Technical Lead within the Pfizer GO ELS engineering maintenance team. The successful candidate will support key roles within the Engineering and laboratory support function to maintain compliance, productivity and production capability.



Provides maintenance trade support to ensure that pharmaceutical equipment and supply services operate consistently, reliably and in compliance with regulatory requirements.







**Responsibilities:**



Engineering & Laboratory Support (ELS) are an essential element in the development of new and innovative pharmaceutical compounds. Our maintenance teams support a wide range of critical process equipment and utility systems to ensure they operate safely, reliably, efficiently and compliantly to safeguard product quality and patient safety.







+ Responds to equipment breakdowns, provide first line diagnostic repairs and arranges for scheduling, components and (if necessary) resource for repair.



+ Support the delivery of planned maintenance activities in accordance with work order instructions and associated procedures.



+ Monitors weekly schedule to ensure compliance - prioritises and reports non-compliance as appropriate.



+ Has developed ability to lead others through change, acts as a change sponsor for new initiatives and changing work requirements. Demonstrated ability to make decisions, takes action, and directs others in ambiguous situations.



+ Provides feedback to Maintenance Manager/APIM Lead on performance and progression, including feedback on others to support performance assessments.



+ In the routine support of and in the absence of the Maintenance Manager/APIM Lead, coordinates & organises the workloads, assigns the schedule and makes decisions on when reactive work takes priority over scheduled work.



+ Manages the teams work schedule when needed, balancing the engineering compliance needs, together with the requirements of production departments in line with global standards.



+ Drafts documentation to support engineering activities i.e. RAMS/Job Plans



+ Develops & facilitates Continuous Improvement and small to complex works projects.



+ Facilitates the provision of spares to support CI & small works project activities.



+ Provide technical and commissioning expertise to allocated engineering projects.



+ Document equipment/system modifications using relevant procedure.



+ Report equipment services or events which are out of regulatory compliance using relevant procedures.



+ Liaises with manufacturing & laboratory partners and cross departmental teams to communicate equipment status to Operational Personnel.







**Qualifications, experience, skills:**







+ Mechanical or Mechanical multi-skilled engineering apprenticeship and mechanical engineering working experience.



+ Suitable and sufficient qualifications and experience to undertake safe working on systems/equipment.



+ Experience of working within Pharmaceutical Environment (desirable)



+ Knowledge of GxP in Engineering Applications (desirable)



+ User level computer knowledge for completing documentation and email.



+ User level knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems.

This position holds a UK Grade 08.
