The Core Software Group (CSG) brings together platform independent operating system and networking protocols teams across multiple OSes. CSG has the charter for all platform independent software as well as Network Services. CSG owns the core software development for Cisco engineering - aligned around customer and business needs - to deliver outcomes faster and to deliver solutions that meet their business priorities. CSG's charter is based on the principles of strong business context, architectural alignment, innovation, and speed.

Qualifications and Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and expertise in these following areas

·       10+ years of industry experience in software development with Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related major, or equivalent experience is required.

·       Must be able to demonstrate excellent problem solving skill and ability to learn quickly

·       Ability to solve complex problems involving multiple products.

·       Ability to effectively present technological concepts to a wide audience.

·       Ability to influence the development of industry wide standards.

·       Good communication and presentation skills are highly desirable. Excellent teamwork and people skills.

·       Exercises good judgement determining how to best achieve technical objectives of assignment.

·       Creative problem solving skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills.

·       Programming experience (C, C++ ), script languages (Perl, Python)

·       Familiarity with Unix/Linux. Experience using RTOS (ex: QNX, VxWorks)

·       Experience working on embedded systems

·       Technical knowledge of Routing and Switching, Security technologies and protocols and networking fundamentals and protocols (for example, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
