The Service Provider Business (SP) develops software across the routing, switch and wireless platform portfolio at Cisco and is investing heavily to transform networking through cutting-edge solutions that will change the way IT is consumed. This means your work will transform our customers’ consumption of our systems and solutions from every angle.

Work with a team of motivated A-players to

  • Work closely with developers and marketing teams at various stages such as product definition
  • Drive/collaborate with other technical leaders/software engineers on system/functional design ,
  • Engage with customers to create innovative solutions
  • Develop challenging portions of software independently and rapidly with a focus on quality in an Agile environment
  • Mentor and lead junior developers in both onshore and offshore locations.


Required Qualifications

  • BE/Btech/Mtech/ME with 12+ years of related experience.
  • Strong networking knowledge and in-depth experience in SW development on multi-processing and multi-threading OS
  • Good understanding and experience of networking protocols and different L2 to L7 technologies, optical technology.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming.
  • Experience in all phases of SW development cycle with some exposure to agile development methodologies
  • Experience in SW development in a large and complex system, such as a router/switch
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a can do attitude
  • Knowledge of Virtualization and Hypervisors highly desirable.
  • Experience with scripting language such as Python desirable.
  • Experience with high network performance I/O - non-blocking scatter/gather, epoll etc. on Linux systems.
  • Experience with kernel network (Layer2/Layer3) driver programming.
  • Experience with kernel memory management.
  • Experience with dealing Open Source community.
  • Experience in identifying and redesigning code to address system scale and performance issues.
