<b>What You'll Do</b>The role of the Technical Marketing Engineer is to enable sales and create field and customer apostles through:
• Being the customer’s Technical Advocate inside the Business Unit
• Evangelizing the value and utility of Cisco security technologies to the field, channel, and customer
• Being the technical arm of the product management team

TMEs have intrinsic product knowledge as well as detailed technical knowledge about a variety of networking environments where the product is installed and operates. TMEs should have the ability to clearly articulate customer use cases, technical differentiators of a product as well as work with Product Managers in identifying customer requirements and product gaps and helping Product Management prioritize those gaps. Excellent communications skills and extensive customer and field interaction is a must.
<b>Who You'll Work With</b> Enable the success of Cisco’s Email Security products in customer environments, and Cisco security overall.
• Assist the team’s execution and strategic plan for technical marketing, consistent with the product portfolio’s broader business strategy, including but not limited to:
• Providing compelling technical collateral by synthesizing complex concepts into customer, field, and channel-centric materials.
• Develop and deliver content at key internal and external events such as sales meetings and CiscoLive.
• Create and deliver product and solution demos to showcase Cisco differentiation.
• Ensuring necessary content, training programs, and design implementations are available to the SE, CSE and partner technical communities. Knowledge transfer content enables the technical sales team with the ability to understand the technical capabilities of our products and to technically support their customers.
• Build competitive knowledge and able to articulate Cisco value proposition against competitors.
• Engaging with select customers that are strategic in nature in order to better understand the real-world environment in which our products are used. A strategic engagement may be a large opportunity, a beachhead account, a new adopter, a customer under Customer Assurance Program (CAP) or through Cisco Security’s customer forums (SSFs).
• Participating in the development process to provide in-depth customer and technical understanding to both Engineering and the Product Managers.

<b>Who You Are</b>
• 4+ years related experience in designing, securing and managing medium to large-scale email security technology deployments in the enterprise and service provider markets.
• Extensive experience in designing, provisioning and supporting SMTP MTAs and integrating with cloud and customer premise email solutions
• Solid understanding of SMTP RFCs
• Experience with email and encryption, (TLS, SSL, S/MIME), mail filtering policy, DNS (DKIM/SPF and DMARC) and LDAP
• Experience in Virtualization, Programming or Software Defined Networks is desirable
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong ability to build relationships among Cisco sales, engineering, marketing, and customers.
• Outstanding communication skills and demonstrated ability in developing and delivering clear technical presentations and white papers on complex topics.
• Strong technical writing and presentation creation skills. Demonstrated ability in creating and delivering technical white papers and business/technical presentations.
• Ability to work with limited supervision in defining initial goals and addressing complex issues as they arise.
• 5-10+ years overall experience in fields such as technical or product marketing, sales, or engineering.
