We are looking for a Technical Marketing Engineer(TME) in the Service Provider Organization. The TME in the SP org is a customer-focused technical marketing/sales professional who provides high level technical information and design/implementation guidance to strategic SP customers. The Engineer provides an architectural perspective across the Cisco SP product portfolio, including software and services, leveraging knowledge of the broad Cisco SP portfolio as well as his / her technical specialization as needed. He / she collaborates with the Account Manager(s) and leverages additional resources (e.g. consulting specialists, demo labs, etc.) to recommend, develop, and propose appropriate customer solution and services offerings. The TME acts in an increasingly consultative fashion and is looked to as a trusted technical advisor by the development engineering, test engineering, product management, account team and customer allowing the TME to identify Cisco solution opportunities aligned to the customer’s business goals. The TME actively mentors junior team members and shares knowledge and best practices throughout Cisco and the SE Community. The TME needs to evangelize products and technologies to meet aggressive business targets and drive product direction in close-collaboration with product managers, sales and engineering. You should be a self-starter and eager to learn with little assistance, the new products and leverage your findings and deductions to provide valuable inputs to Engineering and the overall TME organization.

The IOS XR Technical Marketing role will include the following activities, but are not limited to:

• Serve as a technical subject matter expert on our developing IOS-XR software portfolio (including but not limited to routing protocols such as BGP, MPLS; BNG; routing software; virtualization, SP infrastructure)
• The candidate must be capable of contributing to the design, validation, deployment, and support of software and technology areas in the Service Provider Portfolio
• Develop and deliver Technical Marketing Content like Technical Decision Maker deck, white papers, architecture documents etc collaborating with architects from cross functional groups.
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions for architectural elements, such as software packaging, SP softare platform component integrations and so on.
• Lead this team's participation in industry events like Cisco Live, SEVT etc. by way of giving demos, presentations etc.
• Work closely with architects, product marketing and engineering teams capturing requirements and driving these into the proof-of-concepts, reusable component development and describing the technical aspects in architecture documents.
• Work with the field sales teams, engineering and product management groups to communicate technical solutions, architecture and design aspects and features that result from various projects.
• Develop collateral (presentations, technical briefs and troubleshooting guides) for customer and field usage.
• Develop technical training material for field and internal stakeholders
• Learn the technical elements in RFP and how different approaches for proposal development, including products, solutions, software, and services.

• Engage external resources as needed for RFPs, competitive material, etc. (e.g. CSE, TSN)

• Attend and support customer meetings, seminars and education to understand lead generation process
Qualify Opportunities

• Assist in defining customer business problem in a technical context- outcome mapped to technologies

• Gain understanding of partner ecosystem and the need for value based services/partners and positioning and Cisco and partner tools and resources (such as CSE, SE, PSS, AS Engineers, demo labs, etc.) and how to use / engage them throughout the sales process

• Develop or oversee development of customer presentation materials and delivery of presentations of Cisco solutions to customer working with additional resources as needed (e.g. CSE, TSA, etc.)

• Become familiar with different post-sales organizations (Partner, TAC, CA) and how to escalate requests and outstanding questions

• Document solutions, share findings with relevant teams, including BUs and SE Community
