Technical Operations II, Gene Therapy Support

Job Details

The Kit Creek Gene Therapy technician will provide cell culture process and technology development support for gene therapy portfolio programs and be part of a diverse team of scientists to enable the delivery of life-changing gene therapy medicine to patients. The ideal candidate may support scientists in routine cell culture and/or bioreactor work and an understanding of mammalian cell culture is highly desirable.


+ Plan and prioritize daily activities according to scheduled bioreactor runs

+ Perform bioreactor set-up including calibrations and sterilization

+ Deactivation/cleaning and general maintenance of bioreactors

+ Routine maintenance, calibrations, and quality audits of various analytical instruments

+ Troubleshooting equipment, coordinating and/or performing repairs

+ Solution preparation, managing laboratory consumables

+ Maintaining various electronic databases including equipment/maintenance files

+ Interact with external vendors to solve instrument issues and internal Site Operations on facility issues that can affect operations utilities


+ HS diploma, Associates Degree, or BS/BA in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or equivalent with 1 to 3 years experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, experience in a biological laboratory is desired

+ Demonstrated capability to work as a team member in a matrix development team

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interface with automated systems

+ Ability to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing priorities

+ Must be capable of generating documents utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel
