Who You’ll Work With:

Technical sales professional responsible for providing architectural expertise on strategic digitization opportunities across verticals, including healthcare, transportation, smart cities, building automation, and others. Collaborates across the Connected Team to develop innovative solutions and proposals using a range of technologies across the Cisco portfolio, with a focus on IoT and digitization technologies. Provides a consultative approach to understanding customer's business and technical requirements including an advanced knowledge of the competitive landscape.

What You’ll Do:

Creating Business Relevance
* Leverage customer, partner and industry experience to develop relevant solutions that are tightly aligned to industry business drivers and requirements.
* Articulate how technical leaders plan for their future business environments

* Create solution collaterals to help scale your impact across the sales organization
* Build trusted technical advisor relationships with executives at key customers / partners in your specialty, addressing their business strategy and goals
* Act as a trusted technical advisor to the Account Team, customer and partner

Solution and Architectural Selling
* Ensure the architectural impact and capabilities of Cisco solutions are understood and valued
* Lead business discussions concerning how Cisco solutions compare against and integrate with competitor solutions in various levels of the customer's environment.
* Design innovative, multi-vendor architectural solutions that are replicable to drive Technology Architecture, business strategy, and goals
* Assist in developing the business case for Cisco solutions and positioning the appropriate Cisco Services as required

Building Competitive Intelligence
* Keep current on the technical capabilities and limitations of key competitors.
* Recognize a competitor's architectural advantage from a customer's perspective, identifying Cisco's architectural win strategies
* Know when to collaborate and when to compete with other key providers.

Optimizing Sales Performance
* Identify potential gaps in the relevant pieces of the customer's Technology Architecture to create opportunities to enlarge the sales base
* Help the Account Teams and the SE community evaluate and prioritize potential Cisco opportunities and enhance selling success
* Use customer knowledge to influence BU(s) to create or improve products and solutions

Working Across Boundaries
* Coordinate with Account Team and Communities of Interest to ensure initiatives are linked to the big picture of the business
* Identify and effectively leverage critical technical resources across Cisco at multiple levels to drive engagements
* Maintain collaborative relationships with AS Sales Team and Solutions Architects in addition to team members, customers and partners in any location and across functional BUs

Driving the Cisco Vision
* Promote the Cisco vision for your specialty from a customer perspective to multiple audiences and industry outlets
* Articulate the unique value obtained by integrating all of the various Cisco technologies in your specialty, identifying potential new applications, based on deep knowledge of Cisco technologies and industry trends.


Who You Are:

* 8+ years related experience required

* Wireless and wired experience is required
* Cisco experience required
* Competitive product experience required
* BS/BA in Computer Science or Engineering required
* CCIE certification highly desirable
* Extensive knowledge and experience with Data Center and Virtualization Technologies is required.
* Extensive experience selling Data Center and Virtualization Technologies at the engineering level through the CxO level is required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills are required.
* Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills.

Technical Skills (primary areas of focus):
* Networking protocols, products and design: Routing/Switching, Ethernet, IP, spanning tree, BGP

* Software Defined Networking concepts: SDA, Netconf/Yang

* Network security architectures: Firewalls, IPS, VPN architectures

* Wi-Fi design and management

* Network high availability technologies

Desirable Knowledge:
* IoT network skills, including Kinetic

* Machine Learning / AI

* IoT Sensor technologies (LoRaWAN, IEEE 802.15.4, etc.)

* Blockchain

* Data Analytics: An understanding of streaming and batch analytics (Hadoop, etc.)
* Programming: Python, APIs, JSON, etc.

* Network management tools
