What You'll Do

We are looking for a strategist, technologist and leader. If you are an individual that is recognized as an innovator and adept at bringing bright minds together to resolve complex problems, you are the type of visionary need. As our Strategic Silicon and Photonics Technical Souring Commodity Manager, you'll be engaging on some the industry’s most complex problems. You'll engage and influence our silicon technologies, business goals and strategies for our leading-edge analog, digital and photonic engines. You will define and implement the strategic direction for Cisco’s next-generation IPs, fabrication, processes, and chip-on-chip and chip-on-wafer packaging technologies for Custom, Merchant, Memory and Photonic Silicon designs. You will work with functional partners to understand our long-term requirements, map our requirements into supply base offerings, guide our roadmaps and facilitate optimal component and manufacturing flow process selection. You will help direct sourcing decisions, risk assessment/mitigation and alternate technical solution development.

You will lead large, complex programs consisting of multiple locations and Business Units and will be a self-starter that can independently resolve large-scale project issues.

You will collaborate closely with constituents across our Supply Base, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Marketing and Legal organizations. You will be innovating and crafting solutions to complex problems enabling our customers in unique ways.

Who You Are

Are you ready to Facilitate GSM collaboration across the silicon, optics and memory space, especially suppliers and technologies that impact multiple commodities? Do you understand silicon technology development and the impact on product functionality? In this role you will monitor critical silicon technologies (IP, SiPh, SerDes, foundry & packaging capabilities etc.) and ensure alignment across GSM commodity teams. Being able to build and track an internal (Cisco GSM) list of focus areas and Cisco’s position / progress on each along with being touchpoint with adjacent organizations (Corp Strategy, Business Development, Engineering, TnQ) to facilitate awareness and alignment on silicon investment decisions, will be required.

You have vision and will craft and lead startup “watch list” for key technologies (SerDes, TCAM memory compilers, ADC and DACs and foundry mapping), while providing thought leadership on select initiatives that broadly impact

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalent, master perferred
  • 10+ years of meaningful experience with a combination of engineering design and business strategy experience is required
  • Requires extensive business strategy and implementation knowledge
  • Good interpersonal communication, and relationship management skills
