What will you do

You're a Technical Writer with Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, plan, develop and write documentation sets under supervision.
  • Identify, plan for, and revise technical writing project requirements under the mentorship of the documentation lead.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams such as TAC, engineering, test, product marketing and other documentation teams to produce accurate, high quality documentation for customers.
  • Work with editors, leads, and technical resources to improve documentation quality and usability
  • Ensure timely delivery of work you're leading
  • Demonstrate steady increase in productivity and quality.
  • Works effectively with internal and external partners.

Business/Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Expertise

  • Basic knowledge of technical writing principles including the processes used to develop and publish technical literature.
  • A basic understanding of the networking environment and networking products within that environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet frequent deadlines.
  • A self-starter possessing excellent research skills and enjoys working hands on with the product.
  • Ability to learn new product, technology, and tools quickly

The Core Software Group (CSG) develops software across the routing, switching, and wireless platform portfolio at Cisco. CSG is investing significantly to transform the future of networking for our customers. The Operations Team enables the success of CSG by driving process development and deployment, program management and business operations initiatives.

Who You Are

  • BA/BS in technical or business discipline
  • Over 5 years relevant experience in Technical writing.
  • You should possess ability to make recommendations and inspire change across multiple levels of the organization – from individual engineers & program managers to senior engineering/business leaders.
  • Good presentation skills with partners.
  • Exceptional teammate with the ability to quickly develop and nurture cross-functional relationships
  • Experience with resource management and Clarity PPM is an added advantage.
  • Self-motivated, strong sense of ownership, good teammate.

Desired Skills

  • Ability to implement change management on a large scale, global, matrixed environment
  • Working understanding of financial data.
  • You embrace change as challenge and take initiative.
  • Proven track record of success in operations roles.
