Natchez Trace Youth Academy (NTYA) is seeking a dynamic and talented Therapist (LCSW or LPC) to join our team! Located in the beautiful central hills of Tennessee, between two magnificent rivers, Natchez Trace Youth Academy (NTYA) is a highly-structured, 90-bed, residential treatment center for young boys, ages 12 – 17 years old. These young men are often times court-ordered youth, aggressive youth, and youth who have failed other residential treatment settings. Our wilderness setting enables Natchez Trace Youth Academy the ability to offer a safe, deliberate and exhilarating process for stabilizing behavior, assessing physical and psychological health and BLAZING A TRAIL FOR SUCCESS. We provide a warm environment, education and vocational training, and community service opportunities to our students, as well as a variety of treatment services. Natchez Trace Youth Academy is CARF accredited and is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities for Residential and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services for Foster Care. The Therapist counsels residents/students regarding psychological or emotional problems and develops and implements therapeutic treatment plan by developing, implementing, and administering the therapeutic treatment plan by performing clinical interviews for medical, social, and psychological history and compiles all pertinent documents to facilitate treatment plan. Establishes agenda and conducts treatment team sessions with completion of all reviews. Observes client for abnormal physical or mental behavior and monitors progress with components of treatment plan. Conducts individual sessions according to treatment plans. Conducts Group sessions according to established standards and program requirements. Provides therapeutic support and creative interventions to clients to encourage continued growth and movement while in the program. Demonstrates knowledge of basic counseling approaches (Cognitive Behavioral, Reality Therapy, Support Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution Focused, etc.) Develops a good working knowledge of various medications utilized with clients and the expected benefits and side effects.
