Midwest Center for Youth and Families is seeking a dynamic and talented Therapist

Midwest Center for Youth and Families opened its doors in 1997. Since then, we have been providing high quality care to patients from across the country in our therapeutic residential facility. Our full immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program specializes in treating males and females, ages 10-20, with behavioral and mental health challenges.

Our unique residential DBT program gives hope to families who care for a loved one that has pervasive emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric challenges that impact their functioning at home, in school, and within the community. We will help patients and their families understand how DBT can take them on a journey which creates a life worth living.

The Therapist carries out the responsibilities of obtaining social history information to familiarize clinical staff and physicians with the patient and any past/present problems.  Acts as liaison with the patient’s family or support system and referral sources.  Provides direct psychotherapy to patients in individual, family, and group settings. Assists with utilization review with third party payor sources.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

1. Completes DBT online certification course with in 6 months of hire date.
2. Assists in special projects as requested.
3. Works consistently with family and/or referral source(s) for appropriate and adequate discharge planning.
4. Attends weekly supervision to meet the needs of patients and licensure requirements.
5. Documents the current aftercare needs of patients.
6. Attends appropriate team meetings and coordinates and facilitates treatment planning and appropriate aftercare.
7. Ensures coverage of patient care and treatment during planned leaves of absence or requested time off.
8. Provides weekly individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy as required.
9. Conducts utilization review activities and maintains contact with payor sources.
10. Formulates and implements an initial Treatment Plan and a Master Treatment Plan with updates as needed.  Monthly reports to DCS/PO sources.
11. Completes all CEUs as pertinent to level of licensure.
12. Completes documentation as required by policy within guidelines for content and timeliness.

13. Attends court hearings as necessary.
14. Assists in transportation of patients as needed.
15. Attends staffing as an active member.
16. Maintains all documentation timeliness standards in accordance with all regulatory agency standards and Midwest Center for Youth and Families’ policies and procedures.
17. Follows Corporate Fleet Program guidelines.
18. Maintains appropriate and professional contact and communication with referral sources.
19. Responds to request from staff, referral sources, and facility personnel in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

1. Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling from an accredited school required.

2. LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LSW license in the state of Indiana required or license eligible.

3. Must be at least 21 years of age.

4. One-year experience working in the behavioral health field with children and adolescents preferred.

5. Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and physical ability to safely operate motor vehicles required.

6. Must complete Behavioral Tech, Inc. 20-hour online training within six months of hire.

7. Must complete Behavioral Tech, Inc. two-day training within six months of hire.
