Fort Lauderdale Hospital is a fully licensed, 100-bed, private hospital that specializes in the treatment of drug addiction, mental health issues and co-occurring disorders for adults and adolescents. The Program Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio psychosocial needs while enabling them to access, through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, group therapy, providing information and referrals as needed, and individual therapy when ordered by an MD. Provides variety of psychotherapeutic services, group, family, individual to adults and adolescents in psychiatric hospital setting, presenting with co-occurring disorders, psychiatric disorders, substance abuse disorders and other behavioral disorders. Provides social services, including, but not limited to discharge planning.

Job Requirements


• Master’s Degree from accredited school in Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent

• One (1) year of experience working in a hospital or psychiatric counseling setting with adults and/or adolescents treating co-occurring, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients, with an understanding of co-occurring disorders, and Cultural Linguistic Diversity amongst patients.

• CPR certification
• Preferred licensure as LCSW, LMHC, or CAP
