Job Details

The Trade Promotions Manager will be responsible for developing & implementing the trade promotion plan, strategy, tactics, funding, assortment, analysis and communication for the respective business unit and category that is consistent with brand strategy.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ Managing the trade promotional budget for business unit and ensuring appropriate resources are identified and funded according to go to market strategy

+ Developing national brand/category strategy and promotional plans aligned with marketing objectives for the new item launches and ongoing business matters related to the trade

+ Working closely with Brand to develop trade/consumer programs and initiatives driven by key consumer insights

+ Providing value-added and actionable selling tools which incorporate category learnings and strategic brand insights to allow the sales teams to achieve volume and profit objectives

+ Collaborating with customer teams to develop account specific promotional plans and ensure they are in alignment with brand strategies and trade plans

+ Collaborating with Merchandising Design and Solutions team to ensure national Consumer events are aligned with brand trade promotional plans in order to achieve merchandising objectives

+ Evaluating promotional events (trade, shopper, consumer) to determine effectiveness

+ Analyzing brand/category segment to determine impact and effectiveness of trade-specific brand management initiatives including space management, price, and promotional issues and opportunities

+ Initiating appropriate selling enhancements and/or defense plans to capitalize on market opportunities

+ Reviewing category/brand consumption to identify opportunities and gaps, and account specific opportunities

+ Working with Sr. Sales Strategy Manager to prepare and present National Field Sales Meetings and Web-Ex meetings (meeting preparations, pre-meeting Field Sales materials, etc.)

+ Anticipating and responding to customer and customer team needs

+ Visiting customers, attending trade shows, and conducting retail checks

Background & Education:

4-yr degree - Bachelor's Degree

4-6 years trade marketing/sales experience within a consumer product goods industry

Experience with IRI and CPG industry a plus

Required Skills/Abilities:

+ Understands the retail environment where PCH products are sold and has experience in interacting with the customers in this environment

+ Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex matrix, changing environment

+ Ability to access information technology applications to improve current business environment

+ Ability to access, assess, interpret, and draw accurate conclusions from sales, customer, and shopper data

+ Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications, database information sources and web applications

+ Ability to successfully work cross functionally and manage third party vendors

+ Ability to manage indirect reports with the department

+ 5-10% Travel
