Texoma Medical Center, a 351-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for transcribing pathology dictation of surgical, autopsy, and diagnostic reports and pathology correspondence. Responsible for filing, cross-referencing and retrieving reports upon request.

Job Requirements

Texoma UHS is looking for a pathology transcriptionist to support our growing volume in the areas of cytology and histology, we currently have an active outpatient program that has added to our caseload. This position is a PRN position that will be a conversion to part-time in 2018.

We are looking for someone who has pathology transcription experience as well as extensive knowledge of pathology terminology (including anatomy). We use various report types including surgical, flow cytometry, fine needle aspiration, peripheral blood, and outside consultation with tables and diagrams imported into the reports. Previous knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software is preferred as well as good verbal and written communication skills. Our ideal candidate has the ability to work accurately with minimal supervision and will interact professionally with our staff and clients. The position will be to serve as relief for the full time pathology employee and there will be training commensurate with the level of recent pathology experience.

Experience required - 2 years of medical transcription of oncology or surgical case notes

Preferred experience with Cerner Millenium
