We currently have positions available for Support Services Assistant/Patient Transportation at Del Amo Hospital. Del Amo Hospital is a 166-bed behavioral health facility that is located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.

This position provides a variety of support services in the areas of transportation, environmental services, security, nursing assistance, dietary services, and maintenance for Del Amo Behavioral Health Systems.  This position performs a variety of duties in and around the facility; responsibilities include but not limited to:  Maintains orderly and sanitary conditions of the facility, cleans and services the facility and ground areas; protects life and property of all persons on facility premises, patrols building and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism and secures, unlocks and protects building; responds to security needs of facility personnel and guests, and assists the front lobby reception during visiting hours to ensure that contraband is checked; prepares food for patients and maintains the Food Services Department in a sanitary manner as needed; transporting of patients to and from the program and various appointments, safely and punctually; maintaining vehicle according to maintenance checklist and completing inspections of vehicle, as well as errands for the facilities.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1.           Maintains a safe driving record, with no moving violations.

2.           Obeys all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations

3.           Demonstrates the gross and fine motor skills necessary to correct vehicle operation, including defensive driving kills in operating company van or similar multi-passenger vehicle, and skills in operating vehicle with transmission.

4.           Follows assigned routes and schedule; is consistently prompt.

5.           Independently addresses minor maintenance, including fueling vehicle, checking and maintaining routine fluid levels as instructed, and maintaining proper tire inflation.

6.           Maintains schedule for planned vehicle maintenance, such as oil changes and tune-ups, and takes vehicle in for these services as approved.

7.           Has vehicle washed on regular basis, as approved, and follows procedures.

8.           Maintains documents associated with vehicle operation; documents are legible, are completed thoroughly, are completed promptly, and are promptly and properly filed or stored.\Consistently follow instructions related to maintaining proper boundaries

              with patients and/or clients; seeks direction or clarification from supervisor if questions arise.

9.           Strictly maintains confidentiality of patient and company information, properly directing inquiries to supervisor or other appropriated staff member as instructed by supervisor.

10.         Alerts Program Director, Charge Nurse and/or other clinical staff to any observation of patient problems or potentially harmful or detrimental behaviors.

Job Requirements



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. 
  • Completion of EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training program or equivalent preferred.



  • Valid California Driver’s License Class C in order to drive hospital/facility vehicles or on hospital business.



  • Experience working in behavioral health preferred. 
  • Previous experience in environmental services (hospital/hotel industry) preferred.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in the field of law enforcement and/or security, or equivalent preferred. 
  • Experience as a cook or cook’s helper in an institutional food service facility preferred. 
  • Two (2) years in a hospital environment preferred.
