Texoma Medical Center, a 351-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. In addition, we have numerous facilities in locations throughout the Texoma region.

The Trauma Registrar will maintain the efficient operation of the Trauma Patient Registry, ensure consistency and quality in the data collection system, abstracting, coding and entering information into the trauma database, retrieval of data for quality assurance purposes.

The Trauma Registrar will exhibit proficiency in data management and aggregation/analysis and will remain compliant with State of Texas Trauma System requests for data. They will work closely with the Trauma Performance Analyst Outreach Coordinator and Trauma Program Manager.


Job Requirements

Associate degree in Nursing required.

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or compact.  AHA BLS required.  

Completion of course work in injury severity scaling, (e.g. the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) and completion of a Trauma Registrar course, (e. g.  American Trauma Society (ATS) or DSHS equivalent, within 12 months of hire.

Must possess initiative and be self-directed to accomplish goals in concert with organization objectives. Knowledge of and experience in chart abstraction and coding. Analytical skills necessary to gather and analyze data, prepare reports, and recommend appropriate action plans.  Intermediate level skills in word processing, spreadsheets and other computer programs desirable.  Effective written and verbal communications skills.
