Position Summary:

Facilities include Corona Regional Medical Center, Palmdale Regional Medical Center & others as designated.

The Safety Manager, Workers Compensation is responsible for the day to day design, implementation, and monitoring of UHS corporate loss prevention initiatives to reduce staff injuries and workers' compensation costs. This position will be responsible for up to 5 facilities (includes Corona Regional and Palmdale Regional) in the CA geographic area. Regional travel is required and would be up to 40%.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Conducts physical assessments of locations to identify hazards evaluates and offers recommendations to eliminate hazards and increase employee safety awareness.
  • Designs and implements safety and loss prevention programs to prevent future accidents
  • Conducts job safety analysis to reduce employee strains
  • Develops, implements, and conducts safety training and presentations to all levels of management
  • Conducts accident investigations.

Must be well organized, able to manage multiple priorities.

Must possess excellent communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience required. Master's Degree with 10 + years’ experience preferred.

Excellent technical and analytical skills in general safety, and loss prevention.

Experience in healthcare environment preferred.

Must have ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management ability to prioritize loss prevention service expectations to positively effective work comp expense must possess excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills in order to conduct accident trend analysis and appropriately develop action plans to address trends.
Possess a working knowledge of insurance accounting and work comp claims.
Proficient in department RIMS basic functionality with Microsoft Office products (EXCEL WORD).
Up to 40% travel.
