Garland Behavioral Hospital (GBH) is a 72 bed facility located inside Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Garland. We provide a broad range of services for Adult Psychiatric conditions.

Due to the expansion of the NEW Geriatrics and Adult Unit. Garland Behavioral Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Utilization Review Coordinator ( UR coordinator) to join our team in developing quality services consistent with our philosophy to serve Garland and the surrounding communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-certification of treatment

  •  Conducting external reviews and maintaining documentation of such

  • Concisely reports clinical criteria to payers in a professional and non-judgmental manner

  • Interprets clinical data in order to obtain appropriate level of care for patients

  • Actively participates in treatment team meetings to facilitate communication regarding patient

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health or a nursing degree is preferred.

Experience:  A minimum of two (2) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting; experience in patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.

Licensure in the state of Texas as :  LVN, RN, LMSW, LBSW or LPC

Additional Requirements:   Working knowledge of crisis intervention, DSM V, Mental Status Exam, addiction and recovery field, insurance criteria for various levels of care.
