Rare Disease North America, conceived as part of the category leadership construct, is a newly structured organization that generates nearly $1B annual in revenues. The focus of the group is to transform thousands of patients and families lives by working together collaboratively to create innovative programs that serve the patient community. This newly formed category has been developed to maximize the existing in-line portfolio in hemophilia, gaucher's disease, acromegaly and other endocrine disorders while positioning Pfizer as a rare disease category leader with an exciting and promising pipeline, including gene therapy platform, amyloidosis, sickle cell disease, and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.







Pfizer recently announced that the Tafamidis Phase 3 Transthyretin Cardiomyopathy (ATTR-ACT) study evaluating tafamidis for the treatment of transthyretin cardiomyopathy met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant reduction in the combination of all-cause mortality and frequency of cardiovascular-related hospitalizations compared to placebo at 30 months.







The US Rare Disease Launch Brand Team is recently formed with a remit to prepare for several upcoming launches along with building launch capabilities across the division. With the recent news of our Phase 3 ATTR-ACT study evaluating tafamidis for the treatment of transthyretin cardiomyopathy (TTR-CM) meeting its primary endpoint, the team is quickly mobilizing to launch this exciting product to deliver for the high unmet need within the Rare Disease community. Tafamidis will represent the first Pfizer launch in Rare Diseases for the US organization.







The Director role on the US Rare Disease Launch Brand Marketing Team will help drive the launch success of tafamidis in the US. The role requires senior level launch marketing expertise. The role also requires strong strategic and analytical thinking as well as creativity and decision-making skills, along with a proven track record of success in working in a team-based environment, with multiple marketing and cross-functional partners.







This position will report to the Launch Brands Team Leader for Rare Diseases, North America. It will support the strategy development and implementation for the launch of tafamidis. This position will play a leading role in tafamidis launch efforts by:







+ Ensuring that all key brand strategies are developed and executed as designed and overall alignment to marketing objectives is achieved.



+ Driving digital/non-personal launch efforts- leverage emerging technology



+ Leading various customer-facing and cross-functional work streams



+ Developing and implementing therapy management platforms







Qualifications:







+ 10 + years of pharmaceutical experience



+ BS Degree Required, MBA or other advanced degree highly desirable



+ Significant direct product launch and inline marketing experience required



+ Rare Disease, Oncology or specialty experience strongly preferred



+ Proven track record of identifying customer needs, extracting key insights, and translating these into meaningful value propositions, and tactics



+ Demonstrated success in developing, executing, and measuring complex marketing programs - both personal and non-personal tactics



+ Strong team player with demonstrated ability to engage experts from a wide range of functional areas to improve business performance



+ Ability to effectively lead and influence an indirect team



+ Demonstrated ability to manage advertising and other agencies to produce campaigns and communications that significantly impact business performance



+ Confidence and ingenuity to initiate, create, and bring ambiguity into action



+ Self-motivated team player that is change agile and driven by success



+ Strong analytical skills; detail and action oriented; creative mindset



+ Strong business acumen with excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide variety of internal and external audiences, including senior Pfizer leadership and senior management from external organizations.



+ Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver results on multiple, complex, competing projects in a deadline oriented environment



+ Strong Presentation skills: Experience with presentations to large group using a variety of media



+ Role will be based out of Pfizer's New York office
