Job Description

Roxbury Treatment Center is a private 112-bed sub-acute detoxification/rehabilitation and psychiatric center located at the foothills of the scenic Blue Mountains. In our 60-bed chemical dependency unit, detoxification is conducted under close medical supervision. This unit includes our Military Initiative Program designed to treat active military personnel deal with chemical dependency and mental health issues. The team of physicians and our around-the-clock nursing staff provide the needed assessment and care. The Recovery Program offers a professional approach to the treatment of chemical dependencies. Our treatment team includes Certified Addictions Counselors, Masters and Bachelors level clinicians, and nurses. Roxbury also has an acute psychiatric unit treating individuals with mental illnesses who need short-term hospitalization. This program specializes in treating adult patients who are suffering from co-occurring disorders; mental illness and substance use/abuse issues. Staffed with mental health techs and nurses around the clock, our Chief Medical Officer and psychiatrists oversee this cutting edge psychiatric treatment program. An acute psychiatric unit treating adolescents between the ages of 13 - 17 is currently in operation at Roxbury Treatment Center. Staffed with mental health techs and nurses around the clock, our Chief Medical Officer and psychiatrists oversee this cutting edge psychiatric treatment program helping teens deal with mental illness and co-occurring disorders. Roxbury is currently recruiting afull-time Utilization Review Coordinator on the acute psychiatirc unit. Hours are Monday - Friday, day shift. The Utilization Review Coordinator is responsible for fulfilling all of the activities of the Utilization Review function within the facility. The UR Coordinator will be involved in reviewing admissions for appropriate authorizations, continued treatment stays for all levels of care, working closely with Business Office staff to assure payment of treatment stays and timely appeals of denied cases. The UR Coordinator will work closely with the Directors of Clinical, Intake and Nursing and assist with documentation review and trainings.

Education And Experience:             

Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in Psychology or other related field which includes a practicum in health or human service agency preferred. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Psychology or other related field and two years of experience in a health or human services agency required OR current licensure in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a nurse and a degree from an accredited school of nursing with two years of experience in a behavioral health treatment setting.



Must possess knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients; ASAM, PCPC criteria and clinical assessment process, age-specific patient issues, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques; knowledge and comprehension of regulatory agency standards (DOH, DPW, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.); ability to communicate orally, telephonically, and in writing; working knowledge of computer systems and various software; must maintain certification CPR, Verbal De-Escalation, and Handle With Care. Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player. Good documentation, organization and time management skills are necessary. Must be effective in decision-making and problem solving.  Ability to effectively interface with referral sources, payers, external agencies, and internal staff, management, and physicians.

Physical Requirements:   

Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
