Position Title: UX Designer
Job Code: 395018
Job Location: New Jersey-Iselin
Description:
Prudential Retirement’s User Experience Team is responsible for creating intuitive and engaging online experiences for our customers. We work closely with internal business and technology partners and vendors to ensure that research-driven, user-centered design principles are at the forefront of all design efforts.

Prudential Retirement's digital strategy requires cohesive user experiences for our participants and plan sponsors, institutional clients, internal and external strategic partners, employees and other important stakeholders that we engage. These user experiences must be compelling as they flow through mobile devices, the web, email, games, calculators and tools.

We are looking for a rising UX powerhouse who not only understands the art of both graphic design and technical programming but is driven to bridge that gap. As UX Designer, you will work cohesively as part of an agile team in a fast-paced, creative environment. Together, you will take an active role in creating digital solutions that help define not only how the experience looks but how it works, ensuring a successful end product and customer experience is achieved.

Who You Are:
  • You’re a UX activist who passionately advocates for the user while solving for business goals
  • Collaborative and proactive, i.e. you bring your “A” game and positive attitude every time
  • Incredible attention to detail with a focus on “doing it right” and on time
  • Not afraid of constructive criticism and willingness to change direction (and quickly!)
  • You go with the flow, using cat-like flexibility to shift between priorities at the drop of a hat
Responsibilities:
  • Creating and managing the design of UX artifacts--personas, user/process flows, wireframes, storyboards, functional requirements, and site maps--to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Working closely with Design and Development to ensure technical feasibility of UX designs, and ensure original concepts/vision are realized to expectation in end product.
  • Ensuring final product quality by QA testing functionality and responsiveness across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices.
  • Collaborating across teams and projects from concept development to project completion
  • Leveraging analytics, A/B testing, etc., to make data-driven design and UX decisions.
  • Leading special custom projects requiring significant design/development support
  • Establishing and maintaining design/style guidelines and standards for digital channels, which includes innovating and developing new user-facing features to expand the existing UI Kit and component/widget libraries, and building reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Helping improve digital maturity within the business, leveraging user centric design methodologies and digital best practices.

  • Minimum 5 years of interactive UX/UI design experience for web and mobile (*Must provide a strong online portfolio that demonstrates a solid UX/UI skill-set)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of Bootstrap, HTML5, latest CSS, and CMS technologies
  • Understanding of current Web Accessibility (WCAG 2.0 AA) standards and concepts
  • Proficiency with UI/UX and collaboration tools like Adobe CS, Axure, Sketch, InVision, etc.
  • Ability to present/defend design solutions to peers and executive-level stakeholders
  • Track record of successful collaboration with diverse teams, business partners, and clients
  • Be flexible and fast to produce design suggestions and alternative solutions
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to simplify and explain abstract concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in UX, digital design, programming, or related field.
  • Agency experience a plus
*Applications submitted without an accompanying portfolio will not be considered.
