Description:

This is your opportunity to drive your career forward at an organization in Prudential committed to maintaining the highest benchmark of financial integrity, exhibit collaborative instincts and advance analytical insights. The Enterprise Valuation Group (EVG) within the Controller’s Group is seeking an analytical and results-oriented individual to support our valuation oversight function.

Prudential’s investment portfolio of over $400 billion includes a wide array of products and currencies that are managed primarily by one of several in-house asset management groups.  EVG’s Methodologies unit is responsible for assessing the models and processes used to value those assets.  EVG also assumes responsibility for defining and maintaining asset valuation methodologies and performing periodic testing for the company’s investment forecasting model.

The EVG team is a dynamic group of individuals with skills and experience in investment products, valuation methods, financial reporting requirements and processes, and quantitative modeling, all in the context of valuation.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand investment valuation methodologies, pricing models, and systems across different asset types and currencies

  • Support ongoing and evolving valuation process monitoring and reporting efforts of the broader team

  • Perform independent valuations for a range of complex assets including structured instruments, derivatives and private equity

  • Design, implement, and conduct periodic valuation review and testing procedures

  • Support periodic testing and review of model methodologies for the investment forecasting model.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or quantitative-related subject
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Asset Valuation, Product Control, Investment Support, or similar functions
  • Knowledge of various asset classes including derivatives (options, swaps, swaptions, futures, forwards, etc.), structured finance (securitization - RMBS, CMBS, CMO, CLO, CBO, ABS)
  • Risk management experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of financial securities valuation principles and practices
  • Knowledge of GAAP as related to valuation preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel modeling, data manipulation and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of data analysis, database design and programming language preferred (Matlab, Python, R, SAS, etc)
