Description This candidate will be in charge of building and executing upon an integrated marketing plan to help accelerate AT&T’s growth in the Manufacturing Vertical. This individual will work closely with Sales, Product/Offer Development, Marketing, PR and other organizations across AT&T to effectively develop and roll out aspects of the manufacturing marketing strategy. The candidate will be accountable for developing and rolling out manufacturing solutions and positioning our capabilities to transform market awareness of AT&T as a leader and innovator within the manufacturing space, as well as assessing and facilitating programs and trials to enhance productivity, revenue, and profitability of channels.

This Vertical Channel Marketing Manager must be able to effectively articulate the interconnections of vertical ecosystems pertaining to key aspects of the manufacturing space. This includes understanding areas such as operational efficiency, productivity optimization, safety and compliance, quality control, and fleet management for manufacturers to help sales teams and internal AT&T partners better address the needs of our customers. This is a visible role that includes both internal and external presentations, strategizing with key business leaders and technology partners, and frequent interactions with senior executives within AT&T and our customer organizations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Vertical Leadership – Orchestrate collaboration across groups and organizations from Offer Development to PR to Sales to set the direction and guide the development of the Manufacturing Vertical across AT&T.

Manufacturing Vertical Market Intelligence – Synthesize data that includes primary and secondary research, market sensing input from sales, customer interactions, industry reports and white papers. Use gathered information to segment the market, understand spend patterns and guide AT&T’s direction in the Manufacturing Vertical.

Manufacturing Offer Management – Work with Sales, Product, Offer Management, Network Integration, External Partners, and others to configure solutions, formulate bundles, and manage campaigns designed to meet the needs of the Manufacturing Vertical. A critical part of this role is to leverage market intelligence and the customer point of view to understand the business problems and challenges facing manufacturers and move AT&T from a product orientation to a solutions orientation.

External Marketing of the Manufacturing Vertical – Collaborate with Marketing Communications to guide the development of white papers, social media, and industry briefs. Create positioning and placement opportunities for AT&T’s vertical capabilities at key industry events and forums and in targeted publications. Guide the creation and management of an external facing manufacturing portal. Position vertical sales leaders to help them establish enhanced credibility in the vertical.

Sales Enablement – Raise the level of discourse of the sales teams so that they can “be the vertical.” This requires coaching sales to speak the customer’s language through managing key levers that drive sales growth (including portals, community calls, and newsletters), developing sales collateral and tools, and guiding the development of vertical centered training interventions.

Education: Prefer Bachelors of Arts degree or Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Typically 5-10 years of experience in area of responsibility. Requires advanced knowledge of marketing field. Applies advanced principles, theories and concepts.

Supervisory: No.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5-10 years previous work experience in or consulting within the Manufacturing space. (Ideally in Strategic Planning, Marketing, Operations, Sales, or Information Technology)

• Strategic thinker grounded in quantitative and qualitative analysis

• Track record of ability to lead projects with multiple stakeholders and across organizations

• Must be a self-starter with energy, drive, and determination to accomplish goals

• Must have demonstrated the ability to multi-task in previous work environments and be able to set priorities, stay focused, and set clear milestones

• Ability to handle ambiguity

• Ability to gain consensus and alignment while solving problems across organizations

• Experience speaking in public and presenting to customers

• Superior verbal & written communication skills are critical


• Marketing and Offer Development experience is preferred

• Experience with social media is a plus

• Knowledge of AT&T’s Corporate & Enterprise business solutions and its existing channels is beneficial
