Description:

This position reports to the Group Operations Officer, Prudential Work Solutions Group. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with multiple stakeholder groups and individuals across the Prudential organization to align business goals and associated process & systems architectures to support aggressive delivery roadmaps for new customer offerings. This position will be responsible for aspects of work associated with delivering the next generation of secure technology-driven business capabilities to service new target markets through a portfolio of differentiated offerings. Included within this work portfolio are the architecture, design, and delivery of leading edge digital solutions, with the aim of making appropriate build-versus-buy decisions based on an in-depth knowledge of our future-facing business goals, the contemporary and evolving fintech innovation ecosystem, and time-to-market constraints. The successful candidate will need to understand the competing strategies unfolding within the Institutional Retirement, Group Benefits, and Financial Wellness sectors as well as the underlying dynamics of the demographic imperatives currently driving immense market change. This position will partner very closely with Prudential’s Customer Office, Global Business Technology Services, Enabling Solutions Group, and individual Business Units on the development and nimble deployment of scalable offerings in a highly-matrixed organizational structure.

 

Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities:

  • Own all aspects of translating Business Strategy into associated full-stack Process and Technology architectures enabling the agile deployment of platform features within a DevOps framework.
  • Partner with the Prudential Workplace Solutions businesses and associated offerings/product owners to craft technology-driven Architectures aimed towards achieving challenging growth targets. Become a trusted Business Partner leveraging domain expertise and fresh thinking to provide integrated digital solutions for multiple Customer domains.
  • Partner with the WSG and Business Unit Leadership, Strategy and Marketing teams to translate Business strategy into aggressive time-boxed Platform, Operations, and Organizational Readiness goals.
  • Partner with the WSG Innovation Lab on selecting scalable and maintainable Technology stack elements
  • Constantly evolve information security and fraud-prevention architectures in keeping with the needs of the marketplace
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with the Fintech ecosystem and other innovation channels, focusing beyond just information gathering, with an emphasis on understanding core business models and underlying process-technology stacks to enable informed, creative, and time-sensitive build vs. buy decisions
  • Project confident leadership presence to assertively, yet respectfully, drive towards solutions and results within challenging timelines by working closely with multiple stakeholders in a highly matrixed structure.
  • Lead or provide guidance, within both direct and matrixed organization structures, to teams of analysts, architects, developers and testers (on and off shore) as needed to deliver new capabilities
  • Build scalable resourcing models to account for dynamic variations in program/project portfolio
  • Proactively look for, surface, and address process improvement opportunities associated with, but not limited to, product design &development lifecycles, rapid prototyping, market testing, POCs, plug & play experimentation etc.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. Graduate degree is a plus
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in roles straddling the Business-Technology domain, leveraging a sound appreciation of business imperatives, strategies, offerings, and service models to develop and deploy robust Process-Technology Architectures.
  • A strong business-centric understanding of the current trends as well as anticipated future trajectories of at least two of the following: Retirement, Group Benefits, Financial Wellness, or the overall Wealth Management space. A strong foundation in current offerings in this space is a plus.
  • Experience with end to end solutions delivery from conceptualization through to production deployment
  • Experience building high performance, scalable Web and Mobile platforms is necessary
  • Experience with large-scale Financial Services recordkeeping and transaction processing platforms is a plus
  • Experience in DevOps, Cloud Migration, and Deployment is a plus
  • Experience with Vendor-side Product Strategy, Design, & Development is desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to combine sound Architectural vision with pragmatic Delivery in a fast-paced, outcome-focused environment
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on time, on budget results with desired outcomes
  • Experience supporting solutions in a nimble production environment
  • Experience leading a multi-location team
  • Strong analytical skills; excellent written and verbal communications required
