What You'll Do

This role is an important member of the APJC Virtual Sales team at Cisco. The Virtual Business Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of Partners from a planning, enablement and partner development perspective.  

This will require both a proactive approach to developing the overall business as well as being highly reactive and available in responding to partner queries and requests for information. This role in Virtual Sales is an excellent opportunity to build a successful brand within Cisco in order to open up future career opportunities in the Partner Organization.

  • Be the primary day to day point of contact for those partners managed in terms of Planning, Partner enablement and development, and any other non-sales opportunity-specific queries
  • Create awareness of Cisco programs and be able to articulate the business benefits (rebates, incentives). Facilitate the enrolment process, and engage the CSG team as and when required be the primary day to day point of contact for those partners managed in terms of Planning, Partner enablement and development, and any other non-sales opportunity-specific queries
  • Training – identify any gaps in partner knowledge base/qualifications and educate the partners on all available sales and technical training resources within Cisco. Prepare a training plan for each partner aligned to the wider Partner Plan, and be accountable for driving execution against that plan. Facilitate enrolment to any relevant training programs Cisco certifications/Specializations - Identify the optimal strategic path for each partner and offer guidance on the process of achievement. Be proactive in helping the partners renew relevant certs/specs

Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • Be able to build relationships with Partners effectively at senior levels; understand their business opportunities and challenges, and drive increased Cisco mindshare in their business. Be able to support the partner in building their Cisco business practice. Be able to command credibility at all levels within the partner organization
  • Ability to articulate the Cisco and Global Virtual Sales Value Proposition clearly and effectively. Have a sound understanding of key Cisco programs, promotions and initiatives, and be able to explain in business-relevant terms how they can positively impact the partner’s business
  • Excellent Communication and presentation skills. Have the ability and confidence to present deliver and present Partner Plans and update on progress to a wide group of stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, IT, Engineering or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years of relationship management experience, ideally with channel management experience
