Volume Program Business Operations and Analytics Manager 

General Description


The Commercial Volume Program Business Operations manager’s role is to support the overall operations of the volume business including managing the operating cadence, monitoring execution and measurement of business performance. The primary responsibilities of this role are to work with the volume program office team to ensure ongoing smooth operations of the volume business, support business reviews, and provide analytical support for ongoing improvements as well as development of the future strategy. The individual will also be expected to conducing pricing and business analysis to support the business.


To be successful, the Volume Programs business operations need to understand the Commercial Sales GTM as well as the various routes-to-market (RTM) for the volume business. The Operations Manager also needs to understand the various systems and processes required to support the execution of the volume business – including the Partner tools and Programs such as Customer and Partner Insights Dashboards, DDI/DIR, Fast Track, CCW, Promotion Codes, GDR, Partner Marketing Central etc. In addition, the analyst needs to have the process and analytical capabilities required to support the daily operations of these programs and deliver insights into the success of the program.


Roles and Responsibilities


The Commercial Volume Program Business Operations Manager is primarily responsible for the ongoing successful operations of the volume business:

  • Support the Volume Program Office team in the execution of the volume sales strategy

  • Understand the end-to-end processes required to deliver on the portfolio, pricing, promotions, communications and channel execution for the volume business.
  • Ensure that the operating cadence is followed by the key stakeholders on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Develop new processes and ensure that existing processes are followed per the program cadence.
  • Monitor and track key operating metrics on the performance of the volume business.
  • Develop dashboards and other tools as required to provide visibility into the volume business and tracking of various initiatives
  • Conduct pricing and business analysis as required
  • Analyze customer, distribution and partner data to generate insights for the improvement and execution of the volume business
  • Collaborate with other Cisco cross-functional organizations including sales operations, marketing, architecture, sales teams, partner or and distribution teams to execute the volume programs
  • Develop presentation and analysis for business reviews with key stakeholders on Volume Business Performance
  • Monitor program spend against budget, calculate ROI of program against goal, ensure that financial forecasts are accurate
  • Work with IT and other teams on continuous improvement of business processes and operations related to the volume programs, including automation of existing processes

Desired Skills and qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in finance, sales operations or program development/management in the IT industry (preferable)
  • Strong understanding of systems and processes required to drive a programmatic sales approach
  • Strong analytical capabilities: comfortable with financial modeling, performance measurement and analysis, ROI measurement and analysis, etc.
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Ability to work independently and provide support to teams working remotely
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, listening and presentation skills. Able to articulate complex ideas and strategies to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with Cisco’s products, architectures and services offerings and experience in the IT industry is an added plus
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills are required
  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university/college
