ADP is seeking a Vice President, Competitive Intelligence. The successful candidate will lead ADP's efforts to provide the organization with an indispensable view to the competitive landscape through the lens of the customer. This outside-in perspective on ADP's ability to meet changing needs across buyer segments will help inform and accelerate efforts to drive both near term and longer term growth.

  • Develop a world-class competitive intelligence function with scalable infrastructure to become the trusted source of competitive knowledge across ADP.
  • Evolve the competitive intelligence team, processes and tools to deliver actionable insight across stakeholders.
    • Determine priority opportunities for competitive intelligence support and align resources accordingly.
    • Develop network of competitive intelligence sources, including online resources, ADP champions, external contacts, and vendor partners.
    • Optimize competitive intelligence communication for best-fit delivery to CI user community (email bulletins, interactive portal, roundtables, written briefs, presentations, etc.)
    • Support development of CI team members.
  • As the go-to source for competitor information, make the complex comprehensible.
    • Leverage ADP market insights, including market segmentation and share, personas, buyer journey and workforce trends research, to understand buyer needs across segments.
    • Conduct deep competitor assessments -- across strategic roadmap, portfolio capabilities, go to market efforts, sales, service delivery and financials -- to understand how ADP stacks up and identify opportunities.
    • Communicate impact and opportunities to stakeholders, including product marketing, sales enablement, product management, strategy and leadership.
  • Leverage outside-in perspective to drive change.
    • Align stakeholders and facilitate collaboration on key initiatives with competitive intelligence contributors, including marketing insights, product marketing, product management, strategy, and BU counterparts.
    • Focus on delivering compelling content and creative storytelling in CI communications to motivate action.
    • Help ADP 'see around corners' from position at forefront of external landscape, to anticipate changes that could represent a threat to our strategic plans.
  • Maintain and communicate a high set of competitive intelligence ethical standards, ensuring that all competitive intelligence is gathered from the appropriate sources and employs appropriate collection methodologies, in line with ADP's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and work experience.
  • Functional expertise with a minimum of 10 years in competitive or market intelligence, competitive positioning or market development role.
  • Knowledge and experience in the HCM / HR BPO market.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, prioritize and deliver on initiatives that deliver most value.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams; Demonstrated executive presence; Highly collaborative team builder.
  • Strong analytical skills; Can connect the dots across many points (trends, internal and external data, informal conversations) to identify insights.
  • Compelling story teller; Leverages outstanding interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills to present views in a persuasive manner, tailored to audience and objectives.
  • Comfort with reading and using financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statements).
  • Adaptable and resourceful; Thrives in a dynamic environment.
