**ROLE SUMMARY:**



The VP, Medical Strategy Group will report to the Chief Medical Officer. The incumbent will lead the Medical Strategy Heads to lead and develop Asset Medical Strategy in close collaboration with the Regional Medical Leads. The position has broad impact throughout the organization and requires an oncology medical professional with an understanding of pharmaceutical business operations, products, strategic thinking skills, leadership ability, and strong knowledge about the Oncology stakeholder community and market dynamics.







The leader will build lead and mentor the group resulting in a team of MSHs that have strong knowledge in oncology, including the business environment, disease state, competitor data, asset data and synthesis to clear and effective medical strategy, and leading the effective pull through by regional operational teams.







The role will partner closely with commercial, health and value and clinical heads.







**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:**



This position reports directly to Chief Medical Officer, Pfizer Oncology and is a key member of the global Medical Leadership Team (MLT) in Oncology. The Leader will partner cross-functionally with global and regional medical teams, global and regional health & value functions, clinical development, legal, compliance and commercial teams to develop an integrated set of plans for supporting the pipeline and inline Pfizer oncology portfolio.







+ Envision design and implement a best in class Medical strategy group



+ Retain, recruit, train and lead exceptional talent from within and outside the organization



+ Provide exceptional oversight of environmental, disease state, competitor, asset analysis



+ Ensure the development of rapid data analytic capacities



+ Develop novel data generation strategies



+ Provide portfolio oversight



+ Develop standardized strategic tools and metrics



+ Ensure substantial medical input into all Asset Medicines Plans







**QUALIFICATIONS:**







+ MD required



+ At least 5-7 years of experience in Medical functions in complex organizations



+ Desired: 15 years progressive experience with at least 5 years of experience managing managers of others



+ In depth experience within Oncology



+ Demonstrated success at building and leading effective teams



+ Demonstration of leading innovation that will serve future healthcare needs



+ Very strong communications and relationship building capacity



+ Strong strategic mindset, understanding of market, clinical development, medical, policy and technology.



+ Strong familiarity with Medical strategy and its impact on regional operations.



+ Comprehensive understanding of the regional/ international health environment & profound knowledge of the relevant and applicable regional/international legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice, and guidelines.







**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**







+ Travel 25% including international travel
