Head of Partner Success will be a key member of the Partner Connect leadership team and will lead all aspects of partner operations/partner connect to ensure long term success and productivity of key strategic partnerships. They will fill in a critical leadership role as the Added Value Service (AVS) Division of ADP continues its evolution from being direct to customer to being partner led, and making business led partnerships part of AVS DNA.

They will be responsible for driving product and delivery led partnerships with key ERP and SI partners -- ensuring productivity and scale in these relationships will be paramount to success. This includes spearheading business development efforts to engage with product, implementation and service executive leaders (SVP and above) in conjunction with ADP Strategic Alliance leaders to drive broad dialogue on business model alignment, joint roadmap development, and resource allocation from partner as well as ADP business teams. In addition to external engagement, they will be responsible for interfacing with key leadership roles around ADP (VP/SVP GPT, General Managers, DVP/VP -- Implementation and Integrations, DVP - Strategy, DVP/VP -- Alliances, AVS SLT etc.) to mobilize resources around key partnership opportunities and decisions.

This role will be accountable for day to day execution across all customer and partner touchpoints, and will serve as a point of escalation for partner and client executive teams. They will further be responsible for the planning, co-ordination, and execution momentum of all Partner Connect project initiatives related to driving product and delivery model changes such as integration platform development, joint implementation models, managed services models, attrition risk management etc.

Business Development & Strategic Relationship Management:

  • Interface with partner executive leadership and C-level teams in conjunction with Alliances leadership team to drive broad, cross functional, strategic relationship dialogue. Develop short and long term joint strategic plans with partners and move seamlessly between strategic planning and tactical execution
  • Ideate, setup and gain resource commitment from partner leadership around key joint initiatives such as building seamless product experiences, joint implementation processes, backend integration, managed services, go to market campaigns etc.
  • Drive deep collaboration between ADP teams (product, dev, implementation, service etc.) and their partner counterparts in support of key execution initiatives. Establish and drive top to top functional relationships (i.e. head of product to head of product etc.)
  • Establish and run executive alignment and top to top (C-level or EVP level) formal business reviews to continue to drive relationship alignment, business impact clarity, and ensure productivity of ongoing relationship for both parties
  • Represent the partnership in an executive capacity to joint customers, develop direct relationship with key decision makers, serves as a point of escalation, and drive problem resolution with partners for key client issues

Business Model Innovation:

  • Partner with key senior leadership team members (VP and above) at AVS/ADP to drive business model innovation to support partnership orientation in all key functions such as implementation, product and development, service etc. Key internal partnership interfaces include head of implementation, head of customer success, head of product management, service and business line leaders etc.
    • Examples include: pricing decision, contractual models and sell through relationships, due diligence on feasibility of business models such as pure resell within ADP environment etc.
    • Interface with senior leadership team's direct reports to define scope, set up targeted initiatives and then drive execution of them. Examples could include -- integration platforms, implementation and service model innovation etc.
      • Own the overall program execution and work with project leads and PMO to establish governance structures and appropriate controls in place
      • Partner with head of PMO to execute key projects and then operationalize initiatives to make the part of AVS DNA
      • Set up and run internal operating and governance processes with key stakeholders to ensure timely and succinct action and communication across AVS and ADP

Operations and Execution Management:

  • Design, implement, and lead business case process around key partnership opportunities to drive objectivity in organizational decisions. Bring decisions makers such as GMs, DVP Strat, DVP Sales, AVS CFO and other stakeholders together in a single forum to drive consensus based business decisions around key partnership opportunities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure execution momentum of all Partner Connect project initiatives related to driving product and delivery model changes such as integration platform development, joint implementation models, managed services models, attrition risk management etc.
  • Set up processes, infrastructure and scorecards to regular publish an analysis of partnership impact to AVS revenue, sales and business operations. Partner with head of PMO and other execution leaders to design and deliver key projects in support.
  • Design and deploy communication models around key projects that provide the broader AVS community with timely and succinct information.
  • Keep a close pulse on communication from various functions with their partner counter parts -- act as the QB and central point of coordination for cross functional communication around key partner initiatives


  • Manage a team of high performing partner strategy and operations employees. Coach and mentor partner focused resources across the broader ADP and AVS community for success, both in a formal as well as informal capacity.
  • Be a role model by demonstrating strong entrepreneurial drive that inspires a broad range of individuals towards common goals - foster a culture of test, learn and then well as fail fast and fail cheap
  • Foster a culture of objectivity, productive pressure, high performance, collaboration and team work within the partner operations team but also across the broader ADP partner resources community
  • Responsible for creating a bench of talented and capable individuals that can be groomed for leadership roles within partner operations organization
  • Own communication to internal leadership teams and ensure alignment and awareness around partner activities and business impact with key leaders at AVS and ADP
