The Warehouse Manager is responsible for daily operation of the distribution center and oversees departmental personnel and assets to ensure compliance with regulatory/corporate /department guidelines, training, and performance objectives. Under minimal guidance from the Distribution Center Operations Manager, the Warehouse Manager is responsibilities include: Oversee and direct the workflow of up to 50 hourly employees through various jobs (i.e., Non-Exempt Supervisors, Group Leaders, Specialists, Warehouse Servicers, and Maintenance technicians.). Schedule and distribute work assignments accordingly. Monitor all system processes by utilizing SAP and PKMS systems. Daily interface and problem solving with multiple internal and external logistic groups, receiving, inventory control, transportation, freight forwarders, maintenance personnel and vendors. Train and develop departmental employees to achieve high performance standards. Counsel (verbal and written) departmental employees as required. Process time reporting and resolve payroll discrepancies. Conduct and/or facilitate shift communication meetings. Sponsor/Advise departmental teams. Actively provide direction, support, and motivation to facilitate team progression. Monitor, tabulate and report department performance by accessing information from daily and weekly files. Manage freight consolidation programs to achieve the lowest possible freight cost consistent with established goals and objectives. Conduct operational performance and safety audits. Participate in process improvement with meetings upper management, freight carriers, transportation, logistics, and customer service. Manage and/or organize miscellaneous project work. Conduct annual performance reviews with Hospira personnel. Conduct the appraisal interview and assist the employee in the creation of his/her developmental plan. Deliver presentations to management, peers, and/or subordinates within and/or outside department. Continually seek out methods to improve customer service by identifying new processes, procedures and systems.

This position requires working knowledge of site Facilities Maintenance and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS); integrating knowledge of current industry technologies with board understanding of client requirements. Ensure GMP systems and programs are in constant state of compliance. Maintain facility within Pfizer and industry standards. Experience with Enablon, iNexus and all other reporting programs as they relate to EH&S metrics. Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to work with individuals with varying levels. This position requires good time management skills, the ability to work on multiple projects at a time and proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Access, Excel, and Visio).


Major responsibilities of the PPLC EH&S/HW4 Manager includes:

+ Serve as a liaison for the PPLC for all EH&S and Security related activities including maintaining and facilitating all training related to EH&S and Security.

+ Administer the creation, rewriting, and revising of all policies and procedures designed to promote worker health and safety as well as ensure compliance related to Quality, EH&S, Security, Dangerous Goods, Transportation, ect. (FDA, DEA, TSA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.) as they relate to EH&S or Security.

+ Establish and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSA's).

+ Oversee the site Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) certification program including managing all elements of the recertification process.

+ Manage site's Waste Disposal program.

+ Conduct risk assessments as they pertain to EH&S and Security.

+ Support Global Security on special projects, including Investigations and Incident Reporting.

+ Responsible for the administration of the onsite Physical Access Control System (PACS) and Video Surveillance System (VSS).

+ Serve as a liaison for the PPLC for all activities that relate to the Center for Disease Control.

+ Comply with cGMP/OSHA standards and site EHS programs.

+ Assist fellow Distribution Management Team on special projects/assignments.


Qualifications for this position include:

+ B.S. Degree required.

+ Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working with EH&S Policies and Procedures as well as working within a DC environment.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Access, Excel, and Visio).

Experience with Enablon and iNexus preferred.


Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
