Description:

GBTS Platform Engineering is seeking an experienced WebSphere Engineer. This individual must have strong experience installing and configuring WebSphere and will assist development groups with application rollouts in all tiers from development through production.

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for WebSphere
  • Install, configure, tune, and maintain WebSphere installations. This will be done while working closely with other WebSphere engineers/architects, system and database administrators, and application development groups
  • Serve as escalation point for WebSphere issues in all tiers up to and including production.
  • Integrate WebSphere with external web servers and authentication products such as SiteMinder and WebSEAL
  • Work with existing automation tools for WebSphere deployment and provide enhancements as required.
  • Analyze application and infrastructure monitoring along with performance and capacity metrics and data trending solutions in order to optimize application performance.

Provide support and expertise in integrating new/existing applications into a WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environment.

  • WebSphere Administration background required
  • Unix/AIX Operating System preferred
  • Strong background in dealing with application development and 3rd Party vendors to correctly configure WebSphere and allow application integration into the environment required.
  • Previous experience with IBM Worklight/MobileFirst Platform application integration a plus.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent team player
