What You'll Do 
* This is an entry-level position. We are looking for a candidate with 1-3 years of experience that has a very strong work ethic, is passionate about energy and the environment and is willing to be challenged on a daily basis.
* You will be an analyst on our Global Energy Management and Sustainability (GEMS) team and work on a variety of energy and sustainability initiatives related to Cisco's internal real estate operations called Workplace Resources (WPR).
* You will work on initiatives related to utility procurement, utility bill management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, building analytics and corporate sustainability that are being implemented across Cisco's global real estate portfolio that:
o Increase operational efficiencies of Cisco's building, work environment and personnel
o Make our operations more environmentally sustainable
o Reduce energy and water consumption
o Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
o Reduce utility costs
o Increase Cisco's use of low-carbon and renewable energy
o Raise awareness internally and externally about Cisco's sustainability program
o Achieve Cisco's public corporate sustainability goals
* You will help manage Cisco's global sustainability information system, processes and data
* You will help develop Cisco's annual greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory 
* You will help write portions of Cisco's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report and our response to CDP and Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)
* You will help write and update energy efficiency building, lab and data center design specifications

Who You'll Work With
* You will report to the Global Energy Management and Sustainability (GEMS) Team Manager
* You will work as an analyst assisting on all initiatives being implemented by the GEMS team
* You will interface with program managers and comparable peers within WPR and across a broad cross-functional organization

* Has a high-level understanding and strong interest in the following topics:
o Energy management

o Greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and data management
o CSR and environmental reporting
o Utility budgeting and accruals
o Utility bill management
o Utility and renewable energy procurement
o Mechanical and electrical building systems
o Lab and data center design
o Building controls and building management systems
* Is highly proficient using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
* Understands and can develop financial models for energy-related initiatives
* Has excellent written and communication skills
* Typically requires an undergraduate degree in engineering, building science, physics or environmental studies
* Graduate coursework, MBA and/or certifications in project management desirable but not required
* Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) or equivalent desirable but not required
* Works independently, with minimal guidance on complex situations
