Description WRD Information Scientist is experienced and seasoned information professional directly supporting the continuum of WRD's information needs related to its portfolio of assets. The role will provide a broad range of information management services specializing in scientific information and data to support R&D. Role will include using advanced search skills and tools to gather information from the published literature and other relevant sources and provide value-added answers to customers through filtering and analysis employing state of the art analysis tools such as text mining. The role will provide leadership to information management projects working within WRD with unstructured internal and external content investigating and applying new approaches to information search and retrieval challenges. The role will also be responsible for providing interpretations of their search results upon deliver to key WRD stakeholders.

**Role Responsibilities**

+ A state of the art searcher with knowledge and application of text mining, machine learning and artificial intelligence to current and future projects.

+ Assist customers with effective ways to find and use information by providing information management consultancy services. Offer solutions to share filtered or analyzed content among work groups. Investigate and recommend innovative technological solutions that support information reuse.

+ In full collaboration with the Librarian for Training and Outreach, engage in awareness and outreach programs with customers to promote and enable effective use of information resources and tools. Promote and support end-user/customer self-service.

+ Support existing tools and processes to manage published content. Recommend information management technology solutions on behalf of customers to improve information flow or information access to end-users. Use knowledge of core information management systems to guide customers to appropriate technologies.

+ Provide leadership and management on projects within I&LS, working across WRD or with stakeholders and business partners.

+ Provides information retrieval, analysis and interpretation for WRD pipeline projects, translating search results in recommendations. **Qualifications**

+ Degree (BA/BS), within in a scientific discipline, with 7+ years relevant experience or an information management, informatics, or Library Science education will be essential.

+ An advanced degree , MS or PhD, preferably in a scientific discipline, with 3+ years relevant experience or an advanced degree, MS, in Information Management, Informatics, or Library Science is preferred

+ Demonstrated knowledge of biology, clinical trials, pharmacodynamics, drug metabolism and drug safety with regard to literature surveillance.

+ Experience in research, biology, comparative medicine, and precision medicine domains

+ Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and collaborations.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium teams and work as part of a team is a must. Experience working on virtual teams is preferred.

+ Must have ability to work independently and arrange workload to meet priorities and deadlines.

+ Some supervisory experience preferred.

+ Applicants must have online search experience and solid knowledge of published information resources

+ Solid technical knowledge of information tools and processes used to organize and present data, along with a firm understanding of how information is applied in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry.

+ Knowledge and experience in technologies used to share and reuse data.


Office environment, including flex space, computer desk work, standing for oral presentations.
