Job Description

As a key member of the Global Mobility Development Team, the Xamarin Mobile Developer will be responsible for development of high-quality Xamarin based iOS and Android mobile solutions for Agile projects with a focus on stability, cost effectiveness and on-time delivery.

The Xamarin Mobile Developer will ensure adherence to, creation and/or enhancement of Development Governance, including but not limited to standards, best practices, guidelines.

Ability to evaluate and select off the shelf commercial solutions and integrate into PepsiCo ecosystem.

In addition, the Xamarin Mobile Developer role is to continuously provide innovative solutions by understanding industry trends and applying them to project needs through proof of concepts.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and enhance Native Xamarin.iOS, Xamarin.Android, Xamarin.Forms, Universal Windows Platform Applications maximizing shared code across platforms
  • Provide Solution Governance to projects - Influence and provide input and recommendations to solution design. Perform design and code reviews
  • Coordinate and manage Xamarin-related issues across development life-cycle phases
  • Organize and lead Proof of Concepts to demonstrate new and upcoming technologies
  • Identify and develop global, reusable components and services
  • Anticipate and plan for future business / technology changes
  • Drive DevOps approach, including automation where possible
  • Work/collaborate with external vendors, including on-shore and offshore resources
  • Actively engage with the Product Owner, other Developers in defining optimal solutions

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3 years of hands on full stack mobile application design and development expertise with Xamarin.Forms, Xamarin.iOS and Xamarin.Android in Visual Studio using C#, XAML (UI)
  • Experience with Universal Windows Platform Apps Development
  • Understanding of standards, technologies and design patterns including but not limited to:
    • Strong understanding of Mobile Application Structural Models and related technologies

      • Single-Page Web Application (SPA)
      • Isomorphic Web Applications (IWA)

    • Familiarity with design patterns and best practices

      • Model-View-Controller (MVC)
      • Model-View-View-Model (MVVM)
      • Data Binding in Xamarin

    • Understanding of Mobile Development Security considerations and concepts
      • Platform security (Keychain, Keystore)
      • Application Sandbox
    • Knowledge of DevOps concepts
      • Automated Unit Testing via Behavior-Driven Development and Test-Driven Development
      • Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery
  • Can apply Design Thinking approach while defining the UX/UI requirement
  • Experience with Restful Web Service Development a bonus
  • Understanding of Agile Methodology a bonus
  • Experience with Web Technologies: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JSON a bonus
  • Knowledge of Web Tier is a plus (LDAP, SSO, Reverse Proxy, Load Balancer)
  • Knowledge of SAP Fiori, SalesForce Platforms a bonus
  • Knowledge of Open ID Connect a bonus
